Laurie L. Calhoun is a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute and Advisory Editor of Transition: An International Review. She has served as Director of Publications at the Du Bois Institute at Harvard University, Executive Editor of Transition: An International Review, and Managing Editor of the Du Bois Review: Social Science Research on Race. She has taught philosophy at St. Cloud State University; SUNY College, Fredonia; and the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg; and chemistry at California State University, Northridge, having received her Masters of Arts degree from Princeton University and her Bachelors of Arts (magna cum laude) in chemistry from the University of Colorado. She is the recipient of the American Chemical Society Book Award and the Jakob van Eck Award for Outstanding Breadth of Achievement.
