Richard A. Epstein
Richard A. Epstein is the Laurence A. Tisch Professor of Law at New York University, Peter and Kirsten Bedford Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, James Parker Hall Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of Law at the University of Chicago, and Research Fellow at the Independent Institute. He received an LLB cum laude from Yale Law School and LLD, hc, from the University of Ghent. He is a Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and an Honorary Member of the Law and Economics Association of New Zealand, as well as a Senior Fellow of the Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago Medical School. He served as editor of the Journal of Legal Studies from 1981 to 1991, and the Journal of Law and Economics from 1991 to 2001.
