Research Fellow

J. Victor Marshall is a Research Fellow with the Center on Peace and Liberty at the Independent Institute. He received his bachelor’s degree in history (Phi Beta Kappa) from Stanford University and master’s degree in American history from Cornell University. He is the author of the books To Have and Have Not: Southeast Asian Raw Materials and the Origins of the Pacific War and Drug Wars: Corruption, Counterinsurgency and Covert Operations in the Third World; and co-author of The Iran-Contra Connection: Secret Teams and Covert Operations in Reagan Era (with Peter Dale Scott and Jane Hunter); and Cocaine Politics: Drugs, Armies, and the CIA in Central America (with Peter Dale Scott).
