Alexander William Salter is a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute and Associate Professor of Economics in the Rawls College of Business and the Comparative Economics Research Fellow in the Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University. He received his Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University, and he has also taught at Berry College.

He is the author of the book, Money and the Rule of Law: Generality and Predictability in Monetary Institutions and the forthcoming books From Property, Liberty: A Rational Reconstruction of Distributism; The Medieval Constitution of Liberty: Foundations of Political Liberalism in the West (with Andrew Young) and The Law and Economics of Outer Space Property Rights (with Eytan Tepper).
