Lawrence J. White is the Arthur E. Imperatore Professor of Economics at New York University, General Editor of The Review of Industrial Organization and Secretary-Treasurer of the Western Economic Association International. Professor White has been Senior Economist for the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, Board Member of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board and Director of the Economic Policy Office in the Antitrust Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. He received his B.A. from Harvard University, M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, and Ph.D. from Harvard University.
